OUTREACH FOR ANGLESEY GAY SHAME

Christian Voice is planning a prophetic evangelistic witness to reach the lost souls going to the Anglesey homosexual Mardi Gras.  It is the first event of its kind in North Wales and we aim to oppose the shameful promotion of sodomy on the Island and preach the Gospel of salvation, healing and deliverance in Jesus Christ.  There is another weblink about the event HERE.  (Sad and indicative, isn't it, that a website simply informing homosexual people about 'what's on' must advertise bizarre apparatus, pornography and strip shows?)
Last September we had a highly successful and well-attended outreach at Cardiff Mardi Gras, covering all entrances to the event.
At a time when gay activists are agitating to celebrate their civil partnerships - a mockery of marriage - in churches, and the Coalition is promising legislation to enact this depravity, it is important the Church of Jesus Christ stands up for righteousness.
Relevant Bible articles on the Christian Voice website look at what the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah says about God's institution of marriage and at the universal application of biblical morality in Leviticus.
Because the verses in Leviticus condemning sodomy are often taken out of context, we have a link to the full text of chapters 18, 19 and 20 HERE.
And to stop the ignorant (we believe in a God who works miracles!) saying that eating shellfish is equally as bad in the Bible as sodomy, I have even analysed the Hebrew words translated 'abomination' and found a few surprises HERE.
PRAY: You can pray for the 'Mardi Gras' event to be washed out and for take-up of the over-priced tickets to be minimal.  Or you can pray for fine weather and good attendance so that more people can be reached with the liberating Gospel of Jesus Christ!
Definitely pray for a large number of evangelists to come and share the good news that Jesus can indeed forgive a life of sin, and can heal the emotional pathologies which drive men and women so sadly into the arms of those of the same sex.  Men and women have walked away from the homosexual lifestyle.  Our message will be: however you became 'gay', you don't have to stay gay.
VENUE: Meet at 6.00pm on Friday and 10.00am on Saturday outside Mona Showground, LL65 4RW. It's on the A5 (not the A55) just west of Llangefni.  We shall give out leaflets explaining the sinfulness of homosexual activity, our responsibility to keep the laws of God, how the blood which Jesus Christ shed on the Cross brings forgiveness for sins, and that his Resurrection on the first Easter Sunday means a new beginning and a new life.

ISLAMIC DESPOTS FUNDING UNIVERSITIES

Very worrying article in the DAILY EXPRESS about how Islamic governments are funding courses, chairs and institutions in our universities.  It is based on a 2009 Report from the Centre for Social Cohesion but is even more relevant today given the growing concern over the Islamification of British Society and the growth of Islamic student groups in places of higher education.
I love the spin from Oxford University at the end of the EXPRESS article.  Note how they do not refer to the Middle East Centre, (see Report pp 31ff) nor to the donation to the Ashmolean, but instead concentrate on the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies alone.  Even then, what they say about the OCIS (do click on the OCIS link and get a musical surprise) is spin (see Report p54ff) and decidedly economical with the truth.  That means they have something to hide.  Note on p55 how the OCIS received £150,000 from Osama bin Laden's family at a time when Ozzie was plotting the Twin Towers outrage.  There is a link to Tablighi Jamaat of mega-mosque fame on Report p59.
We shall be running an analysis on this matter in our April Christian Voice newsletter.  We shall encourage people to write to their MPs and ask their MP to ask the Secretary of State for Education what the Government plans to do to prevent Universities accepting money from Islamist despots.
As to the university and college lslamic groups, really, we need radical Christian students to counter this particular Islamic threat.  The existing Christian Union student groups are doing great work in evangelism, but maybe they need the boost of prophetic Christian groups standing alongside them.  Anyone up for that?

DEATH PENALTY AT HOME & ABROAD

My only quibble with Leo McKintsry is whether we should be dealing out the death penalty in the form of military intervention abroad at all - except of course where British interests are involved.  But otherwise, he is spot on about the sheer hypocrisy of our leaders.
As for the death penalty itself, murderers need to be properly convicted according to Biblical standards (not just beyond reasonable doubt), but as long as there is a rainbow in the sky, I read that God's covenant with the sons of Noah (that's us) still stands 'for perpetual generations' (Genesis 9:5-15)

THE DEATH PENALTY SHOULD BE USED AT HOME AND ABROAD

Story Image
Defence Secretary Liam Fox suggested that Colonel Gaddafi himself is “a legitimate target”
Wednesday March 23,2011

By Leo McKinstry

BRIMMING with righteous zeal the Government proclaims that the war in Libya is a noble cause.
Britain and its allies are fighting to protect the innocent from brutal oppression, argue coalition ministers, adding that moral compassion requires us to challenge and overcome the despotism of Colonel Gaddafi’s regime. Yet there is a huge element of hypocrisy about all this humanitarian fervour. As the air strikes against Gaddafi’s forces intensify David Cameron and his colleagues portray themselves as warriors against vicious injustice abroad. But they show absolutely none of this bristling determination or clarity of purpose when dealing with criminals at home.

So noisily resolute against Gaddafi, they are pathetically limp in taking on murderers, thugs, terrorists, drug dealers and bullies who operate within British society. Institutional leniency, soft prisons and an enfeebled police force have become the hallmarks of our cowardly justice system, all backed up by the Human Rights Act, which has helped to turn our courts into a protection racket for the criminal classes while the innocent continue to suffer.

The hypocrisy is at its most glaring over the British state’s willingness to kill its enemies abroad, in contrast to its squeamishness over the death penalty at home. Last weekend Defence Secretary Liam Fox suggested that Gaddafi himself is “a legitimate target”. T his stance was backed up not only by Foreign Secretary William Hague but also by the No 10 machine, which stated that Gaddafi could be taken out if he continues to orchestrate assaults on his own people.

But this prompts the question: if it is acceptable to assassinate Colonel Gaddafi because of his record then why on earth is it wrong to execute Ian Huntley, the cold-blooded murderer of two young girls in Soham? Effectively the Government is using the weapon of capital punishment abroad but denies the same tool of justice for the British people at home. If our politicians think it is morally right to kill genocidal maniacs and tyrants overseas then why do they not apply this logic to British mass murderers such as Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe or the monstrous Dennis Nilsen, who butchered at least 15 boys and young men in gruesome circumstances between 1978 and 1983?

David Cameron is on record as opposing the reintroduction of capital punishment yet sees no contradiction between this approach and his enthusiasm for bombing Gaddafi’s compound in Tripoli. Like most members of our metropolitan political elite Cameron regards his opposition to the death penalty as a badge of his compassion. But now we are told that it is the same impulse for compassion that has led Cameron on his military mission in Libya. There is absolutely no logic or moral consistency here.

Air strikes are far more lethal than a single noose around the neck of a convicted murderer yet the former is celebrated as a modern instrument of humanitarianism and the latter derided as an outdated symbol of savagery. Even more than Cameron today, Tony Blair was the supreme champion of this double standard.

With typical moral superiority he condemned the death penalty as “barbaric”. Yet during the Yugoslav war, another supposedly humanitarian operation that began with a no-fly zone, he was quite happy for Allied bombers to launch a raid on the home of the Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic near Belgrade.

Similarly, during the Iraq war, he endorsed the dropping of four 1,000 kilogramme bombs on a restaurant in which Saddam Hussein was dining, while he greeted the news that Saddam’s two sons had been killed in a gun battle with US forces as “a great day” and “very good news”. Blair would be outraged about using such upbeat language over the execution of any British killer.

Opponents of the death penalty always smugly declare that the state should never take a human life. In reality, whenever the British state is involved in any sort of military action, killing will happen on a scale far greater than anything that would occur through the reintroduction of capital punishment. During Blair’s Yugoslav mission NATO air forces accidently bombed a convoy carrying Kosovan refugees. At least 70 innocent civilians were killed in the process.

Equally wrong-headed is the fashionable idea that the death penalty is unusually cruel. What is truly cruel is the ideological refusal to protect society by making murderers pay the ultimate price for their crimes. Far from being “barbaric”, to use Blair’s phrase, the death penalty is actually driven by respect for the sanctity of innocent life. By downgrading the punishment for murder from execution to a prison sentence usually no longer than 12 years the state is signalling that it places only limited value on human life.

It is little wonder that since the abolition of the death penalty in 1965 Britain has become a more violent, less well-ordered place. Overall crime has shot up tenfold, while the murder rate has quadrupled. So much of the Government’s international posturing arises from our politicians’ desire to feel self-important. They seek adulation as the world’s policemen but if they really want to fight criminality and oppression they should concentrate more of their efforts on protecting the British public. Moral courage, like charity, should begin at home.

NOT OUR WAR IN LIBYA

I saw Nick Harvey MP, our Armed Forces Minister, on TV this morning refusing to rule out the use of ground forces in Libya.  When he was asked if we had an exit strategy, he replied, 'How long is a piece of string?'
That is scary.  Iraq here we come again.
Bear in mind that the politicians are telling us the UK is broke.  There are supposed to be swingeing cuts everywhere.  People are losing their jobs.  Unemployment is at 8%.   Yet we have the cash to send aircraft - but not on an aircraft carrier - we can't afford one of those with planes on it - to a far-away country of which we know little.
Who are these rebels we are supporting?  Colonel Gaddafi may well be a bad sort, but are these guys better?  Or are they, as Gaddafi plausibly contends, Al Qaeda / Muslim Brotherhood types who will even worse for the West - and, crucially, for Israel - than the Bedouin soldier in charge right now?
'We cannot stand by while Gaddafi uses violence against his own people', say Messrs Cameron and Obama.  Excuse me, isn't that what countries in a civil war do?  Isn't it what law and order involves?  Of course Gaddafi is a murderous despot, but where were we when Robert Mugabe was murdering his own people?  Or any other non-oil-rich regime around the world?

Already the Arab League say we are going too far.  'That's not what we had in mind when we agreed to a no-fly zone', and don't expect similar action against Bahrain.  The US 5th fleet is harboured there.  Peter Hitchens put al this better than I can.

But I fell to thinking about this 'violence against one's people' argument and I am not sure we are as sqeaky-clean as David Cameron assumes.  After all, don't our police use violence against demonstrators?  Didn't they bash up the student anarchists, the class-war nutcases, even the countryside marchers?  And when they kill the odd civilian, like a man carrying a table-leg, a Brazilian electrician, an innocent passer-by, is any police officer ever brought to book?  Of course not.  Yet Gaddafi must answer for his crimes.
WRITE urgently to your MP:
These are the rules for writing any letter or email to your MP:
1 Ask your MP to ask a question of the minister responsible.  (In this case the Secretary of State for Defence.)  This ensures you will get a reply.  Never write to a minister direct.  It makes your MP look redundant.  Kill two birds with one stone.
2 Be precise.  Do not ramble.  State the matter in the first paragraph and make each point concisely.  I always try to say everything on one well-spaced page.  If you go to three pages, you have lost the game.
3 Be patient.  Assume your MP knows nothing about the case, so explain carefully (but precisely!)
4 Be accurate.  Do your own research or rely on a group like Christian Voice who check everything.
5 Be legible.  If your handwriting is not up to it, type it or email and spell-check.
6 Be calm.  No ranting and raving, no over-the-top comments, no snide remarks.
7 Ask your MP to agree with you if the occasion arises.  This could be your question (see 1).
8 Keep to one subject.  If two things are on your mind, write two letters, a couple of days apart.

Letters are always written to your MP at: House of Commons, LONDON, SW1A 0AA
Emails can also be sent.  You need to know either your MP's name or your Parliamentary Constituency.  Both of these, together with email addresses may be found here on the Parliament website.  If you know neither your MP nor your constituency you can simply type your postcode in a box.  In fact, that is the easiest way to get staight to his/her contact details.

WEMBLEY HALAL LEAFLET

This is the text of our leaflet about halal food which we are distributing at Wembley on match days.  We meet at Wembley Park Tube at the foot of the stairs before moving down to Olympic Way to distribute the leaflets around three hours before every match from March to the end of the season in June.  Our campaign begins with England v Ghana, takes in the JPT and Carlsberg matches, the FA Cup (14th May), the Champions League (28th May), the npower playoffs on May Bank Holiday Monday, and England v Switzerland on 4th June.

Don't forget to sign our petition at: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/labelhalal/

Text of leaflet:

BOYCOTT WEMBLEY
STADIUM HALAL FOOD

Britain's most famous sporting venue is selling halal food in its on-site take-aways and hoping you don't notice.
A Football Association spokesman told us that if you buy fried chicken or any lamb products at Wembley Stadium, you could easily be eating meat from an animal ritually slaughtered in the name of Allah.
We asked the FA to confirm in writing that the beef burgers at Wembley are not halal.  They refused.
In the name of Allah
They would not even say if their halal chicken, lamb and any beef on sale is stunned before slaughter.  Even if it is, that is not the point.
A Muslim slaughterman still chants 'Bismillah Allahu Akbar' (meaning 'In the name of Allah, Allah is the greatest') over each halal animal killed, sacrificing it to Allah.  Anyone buying halal meat will be eating Sharia Law.
'Halal' is an Arabic word which means 'lawful' for Muslims to eat.  It is the opposite of 'haram' which means unlawful.  (Alcohol and pork are always 'haram' for Muslims.)
None of the halal food at Wembley is labelled. Muslim food is being served up secretly in our national football stadium.
They rely on our ignorance
But even if it was labelled, it would still be 'take it or leave it'.  Supposing you don't fancy a sausage roll or a bacon sandwich?
Wembley rely on public ignorance to get away with it.  If we start to question them and boycott anything which might be halal, they will change.
If there is going to be halal food at all at Wembley, it should be only available on request.
Koran denies the truths of Christianity
The Koran denies the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, denies that Jesus can forgive sins, and denies that he is to be worshipped or that he can be prayed to.
The Koran says that Allah has begotten no son.  But the Bible records Almighty God saying of Jesus: 'This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.  Hear him.'  Obviously, Allah is not the same as Almighty God.
Halal meat is sacrificed to an idol
For Christians, halal meat has been offered to another god - or idol - and the Bible warns strongly against it.  Refusing halal meat, for Christians, is an act of witness to those who do not believe.
But even those of no faith can rightly object to their take-aways at Wembley having been dedicated to Allah according to Islamic law.
The issue is creeping Islamification in Britain today.  Why should a 4% -5% minority dictate how our meat is slaughtered?   Why should aspects of Sharia (the Arabic word for 'law') be imposed on British people?
Islam is given concession after concession
We are getting too used to stories about Muslim bus drivers refusing to allow guide dogs on board, Muslim supermarket checkout girls refusing to serve alcohol, or describing a Bible as 'dirty', of women-only sessions for Muslims at local swimming pools, of areas in our towns and cities which are Muslim-only.
We are hearing that halal meat is being fed to all pupils in schools, hospitals and prisons, and now halal meat is being secretly imposed on fans at Wembley.
What will save our nation?
We need to stand up for Britain's Christian heritage and pray that God will stem the tide of immorality and Islam in our nation.
We want a nation where our politicians are men of honour, where children respect their elders and young people respect human life, where men and women keep the vows they make on their wedding day, where perversion is not part of our culture, where our streets are safe to walk in and where the womb becomes again the safest place on God's earth.
We are all responsible to God
We believe God made the world and gave mankind laws to live by.  We sin when we break God's Commandments, by murder, stealing, lying, worshipping idols, blaspheming, disrespecting parents, adultery, envy, lust and all sexual sin.
We are all responsible to God for the way we live our lives.  When you work, you expect your wages; it's what you have earned. But the Bible says 'The wages of sin is death'.
Jesus is a man's man.
We get too used to pictures of a meek and mild Jesus holding a lamb.  Yes, Jesus is compassionate and kind, merciful and forgiving, but these are masculine qualities.
Jesus was and is a man's man.  He told a bunch of fishermen to follow him; and they did.  He drove money changers out of the temple in Jerusalem with a whip.  In the end, knowing that the only way to gain forgiveness for mankind was to offer himself for our sins, Jesus allowed himself to be crucified, nailed to a cross, hung up to die in agony.  A man doesn't get much tougher than that.
Power to rise from the dead
Jesus said he had the power to lay down his life and the power to take it up again.  And he did, rising from the dead on the first Easter Sunday.  That proved he was God in the flesh, and that he had the power to forgive sin and give us a new life. The Bible says: 'The gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ our Lord.'
'The way, the truth and the life'
You can't cover your own sin, or rely on the good you do.  Only Jesus Christ is the way to heaven.  He said: 'I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.'
Where will you spend eternity?  Because God is good, no sin is tolerated in heaven.  We have all sinned.  Only Jesus can forgive your sin, and save you from hell.  Turn to him today.
Complain to Wembley
See the back page for who to complain to about halal food at Wembley.  Our advice is, if you don't get an assurance from the catering staff that the food on sale is not halal, don't eat it.  And tell them why.

Luke 9:35; John 14:6; Romans 6:23

Spring 2011

STILL GOING TO WEMBLEY!

On Tuesday 29th March, a fortnight today, for England v Ghana, we'll meet outisde Wembley Park Tube at 6pm.  We are going to need a big team, because there are other pedestrian entances from the south and west to cover.  I really need to know now who is coming to this outreach in order to plan it.
Last week, I was told in the space of a single day by three separate Wembley/FA officials firstly that no meat is halal, secondly that all meat is halal, then lastly that only chicken and lamb is halal. Wembley sent me this vague statement from Delaware North Companies (DNC) who are the Wembley caterers:"We cater for a wide variety of dietary needs and there are always a number of options available to suit most requirements.  We source large volumes of meat and a proportion of the chicken and lamb is certified halal. Halal beef is also offered to our hospitality customers on request.  Our events and menus are diverse and are continuously changing and we can both advise our customers of options or endeavour to cater for specific requests."
So I asked the Wembley man Nick: 'As I understand it, from what you told me, chicken and lamb at Wembley Stadium are halal (whether pre-stunned or not) and beef is not halal.  Can you confirm that please?  Can you also please state what would be the objection or other negative impact on insisting that Delaware North use only non-halal chicken?'
Next day I had a reply: 'We won’t be commenting further', said Nick.
I don't think I have encountered such a level of dodging and weaving while researching halal food before.  What do Wembley gain from refusing to be transparent about their catering?  Are they hoping we'll just forget about it and eat what we're given?
In the absence of honest labelling to warn fans whether they are eating Islamic meat or not, and based on what I was told by Nick, the statement from Delaware North, a bit of reading between the lines and my experience on this issue so far, my advice to fans is this:  Avoid all chicken and lamb at Wembley, and ask about the beef burgers on site. Or stick to sausage rolls or bacon sandwiches.  Or take your own.
NEW VIDEO
We started filming the new video on restaurants and take-aways on Saturday.  Had a priceless encounter in the halal-only Subway in Barking.  I went in for a ham 'Sub', which was advertised on the Subway website as ;'Sub of the day' at £2.29.  'Can I have a ham sub?' I ask.  'Yes, of course,' says the Muslim girl behind the counter.  'Is that proper ham?' I ask as she shoots off to make it.  'It's turkey-ham,' she says.  Turkey-ham?  What on earth is that?
I am reminded of Sir Winston Churchill being introduced to a man named Bossom.
'Bossom?' queried the great man.  'Bossom?  It's neither one thing nor the other.'
I declined the offer of turkey-ham.  Later, I remembered my breakfast on Emirates Airlines a year and a bit ago.  They served up something painted with red stripes pretending to be bacon.  That will have been halal turkey-bacon I guess.
PAKISTAN
There is a harrowing eye-witness report from Pakistan in the Herald Tribune written by Taha Siddiqui who has met Aasia Bibi's family and relatives of Christians burnt to death in Gojra in what appears to have been a month-long investigation.  Siddiqui is a Muslim, and at the end he wonders: 'With the hatred and bigotry I have witnessed in the past few weeks, I wondered what happened to the Islam of my childhood, the religion of peace, harmony and tolerance?' 'Arun' in the comments replies:
'The celebrated Ilmuddin of 1929 suggests that the childhood was a brief interregnum, an aberration in the way things always were.'
Arun is referring to Ghazi Ilm-ud-deen, who took it upon himself to murder the book publisher Raj Pal for publishing a book Muslims decided was blasphemous.  He was executed in Lahore in November 1929 in what was then British-controlled India but later became Pakistan.  You can read about it on Facebook HERE or Wikipedia HERE or a Muslim site HERE (all are pretty much the same).  Ilmuddin became celebrated overnight, and millions attended his funeral.  In an important sense Ilmuddin was a forerunner of Malik Mumtaz Qadri, the bodyguard who shot Punjab governor Salman Taseer and has become a Muslim hero.

CHILDREN IN CARE BEING ABUSED

THE SUNDAY EXPRESS reports that record numbers of children in care are calling ChildLine to report abuse and neglect. More than 3,000, some as young as five, contacted the helpline last year to report serious failings and weaknesses that included physical and sexual abuse, according to NSPCC research.
This represents one in 26 of all children in the care system and is a rise of more than 30 per cent over the past five years. ChildLine says most children do not seek help and the calls are the tip of the iceberg.
'There has been a surge in children taken into care since the case of Baby Peter Connelly two years ago, together with an appalling lack of safeguards to protect them,' says the Express.
In too many cases, social workers let the hard cases like that of baby P, with the most aggressive parents, slip by, and take children instead from vulnerable parents who cannot defend themselves and who have gone to the SS for help.  These are the children who go into a 'care' system where they feel abandoned and can be abused.  Meanwhile, Christians like Owen and Eunice Johns, who are far more likely to offer a loving home, are not wanted as foster parents because they might say something against homosexuals.
Other writers are noticing the threat to ordinary Christian families in the Johns judgment.  Alison Pearson, writing in the Telegraph, asks: 'If it were up to the local council, how many of us would be considered suitable to foster our own children?'
Libertarian Dr Sean Gabb has written in hope that the ruling elite will fall, but he concludes: 'For the moment, however, England is a country where Christians are fair game for harassment. I do not suppose that the case of Mr and Mrs Johns will be my last reason for commenting on this fact.'
In the Lancashire Telegraph, Kevin Logan wrote: 'At heart is a vital issue: can children now only be cared for by liberal, secular humanists and those who agree with the Big Brother Commission?'
The Sunday Express continues:
'Official figures show the number taken into care grew eight per cent in 2009-2010 to more than 83,000 compared with the previous year. Peter Liver, director of ChildLine, said: “Every day looked-after children talk to us about lives filled with pain and hurt. We hear from children who have been beaten or sexually assaulted while in care. Others feel abandoned or unloved by their new carers.”
'The charity has released the report as it concludes its Child’s Voice Appeal, Let No Cry Go Unheard, and is calling on the Government to make sure local authorities provide an advocate for all children in care.
The report, entitled Talking to ChildLine, records heartbreaking stories. Some children describe being “sick of life” and others say they want to “give up and die”.
'Nearly 300 reported physical abuse and almost 250 complained of sexual abuse. Almost 150 youngsters sought advice for emotional abuse or neglect.'

WEST HAM PRAYER - NO MEGAMOSQUE!

The next prayer meeting at West Ham against the proposed 'megamosque' - and for our nation is Saturday 2nd April.  Start 10.30am.  We finish at 12.30pm.
Tablighi Jamaat's unlawful mosque site at West Ham
The planning appeal by Tablighi Jamaat to continue using land at West Ham as a mosque has ended. The appeal was brought against an enforcement notice served on the group by the London Borough of Newham, requiring them to stop using the site for public worship.
The appeal finished on Tuesday 1st March with summing up from the barristers for Newham Council, Tablighi Jamaat and the Objectors.

The Planning Inspector will now go back to Bristol and consider the case. The verdict is expected in mid-May.

PRAYER FOR CONFUSION
Christian Voice members have been meeting for prayer on the Greenway overlooking the site on the first Saturday of every month without fail since January 2007.  I believe that it is because we have added some action to our prayer - by going down to the site - that the Lord has seen that our prayer is serious and responded to it.  Numbers have rarely fallen below ten, and there has been constant prayer for confusion in the mosque camp. The Lord has honoured our prayer with powerful answers, as Tablighi Jamaat have failed to meet deadlines, sacked and replaced architects and PR people and held a disastrous open day.

Prayer. The Tablighi Jamaat site is to the left of the picture

Their intended "megamosque" cannot now be built in time for the Olympic games, so that is a triumph in itself. We would have taken that when we started in January 2007, but now we are encouraged to press on and press in. The March prayer meeting was crucial, and those in April and May will be even more important as we pray for the Planning Inspector utterly to reject the Tablighi Jamaat proposals, that their appeal fail and that they cease the unlawful use of the site, which lies between the District Line side of West Ham Station and Channel Sea House, as a place of worship.

COME ALONG:  2nd April 2011, 7th May 2011 and every first Saturday in the month thereafter.  Meet at the site where the Greenway pedestrian path crosses Canning Road.  Aim for Channel Sea House, E15 3ND.  We start at 10.30am and finish at 12.30pm.
West Ham Station is on the Fenchurch Street line to Southend, and on the Hammersmith and City, District and Jubilee underground lines.  Check at Transport for London for 'planned engineering works' to the Tube.
From West Ham Station, turn right out of the station, turn right along Manor Road, under the railway bridge, under the Greenway bridge and if on foot turn left into Leywick Street, then left into Abbey Road then left into Canning Road, which is where we shall be, where the Greenway crosses Canning Road.  If coming by car, turn into Mitre Road which becomes Abbey Road, but you will need to park in Leywick Street or take a chance and park at Channel Sea House.

PLEASE COME and stand up for Christ whatever the weather and be challenged and blessed!  (Phil 1:27-29).  The meeting is always a great time of fellowship.

PRAY: That there is a good turn-out with powerful prayer for our nation at these West Ham prayer meetings.  Pray that the Tablighi Jamaat appeal will fail.  Pray that all the enemies of the Lord will stumble and fall.  We are under threat from both Secularism and Islam.  Who is on the Lord's side?  Come along and stand with us!

BEHOLD, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. (Isa 59:1)
AND the most proud shall stumble and fall. (Jer 50:32)
AND HE increased his people greatly and made them stronger than their enemies. (Psalm 105:24)
READ: 2Chron 20 and be encouraged!

We have been meeting for prayer on the Greenway overlooking the site on the first Saturday of every month without fail since January 2007.  Numbers have rarely fallen below ten, and there has been constant prayer for confusion in the mosque camp.  I believe the Lord has honoured our prayer with powerful answers, as Tablighi Jamaat have failed to meet deadlines, sacked and replaced architects and PR people and held a disastrous open day.
'The intended "megamosque" cannot now be built in time for the Olympic games, so that is a triumph in itself.  We would have taken that when we started in 2007, but now we are encouraged to press on and press in.  The March prayer meeting was crucial, and those in April and May will be even more important as we pray for the Planning Inspector utterly to reject the Tablighi Jamaat proposals, that their appeal fail and that they cease the unlawful use of the site, between West Ham Station and Channel Sea House, as a place of worship.'

COME ALONG:
Future dates: 2nd April 2011, 7th May 2011.

Do come and stand up for Christ whatever the weather and be challenged and blessed!  (Phil 1:27-29).  The meeting is always a great time of fellowship.  Future dates: 2nd April 2011, 7th May 2011.

PRAY: That there is a good turn-out with powerful prayer for our nation at all events.  Pray that the Tablighi Jamaat appeal will fail.  We are under threat from both Secularism and Islam.  Who is on the Lord's side?

BEHOLD, the LORD's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. (Isa 59:1)

MURDERING UGANDA

This was the title of an email from American pro-family activist Scott Lively in the aftermath of the killing of Ugandan homosexual activist David Kato, beaten to death with a hammer in his own home.  It was the saddest of ends to the sad life of the diminutive Kato.  Why is Uganda so important to the gay lobby?  Scott Lively offers this explanation:

'Uganda is the only country in the world with a national holiday commemorating its rejection of sexual perversion. Every June 3 it honors the 22 young men and boys who were tortured and roasted alive in 1886 by homosexual King Mwanga, because they refused to submit to sodomy.  Is it any wonder, then, that Uganda has reacted violently against the army of agitators, led by George Soros, who now seek to re-homosexualize Ugandan culture?'

Except it hasn't.  It has reacted, but not violently (and more of George Soros in a minute). Anyway, the anti-Christian media jumped on the Kato murder, blaming it on Ugandan 'homophobia', stoked up, most claimed, by a visit Lively made to Uganda in 2009.  Kato's picture appeared some months before his murder in a Ugandan magazine called 'Rolling Stone', which called for him and other gay activists to be hanged.  It seemed easy to blame the murder on 'homophobes'.

Godless Ekklesia led the way in the UK, quoting the Bishop in charge of the 'Episcopal Churches in Europe', a fringe liberal denomination with a grand total of eight parishes across the whole of Europe:
'David Kato paid the ultimate price for being gay in Uganda. A leader of Sexual Minorities Uganda, which seeks to change fellow citizens’ minds about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people, he was murdered in his home in Mukono, Uganda, on 26 January 2010. He had been targeted as a “top homosexual” in a national newspaper last October.
'The fear and hatred that inspired David’s killers are not confined to the uneducated. Recently, a lawmaker proposed legislation that would make homosexual sex a capital crime in certain cases. The churches in Uganda have been slow to act. In fact, reports from David Kato’s funeral affirm that an Anglican priest loudly interrupted the service to condemn “ungodliness,” which led to the villagers refusing to bury his body. His friends had to haul his body to the grave and inter him themselves.'

Annoyingly for the worldwide gay lobby, the truth then came out.  Kato was not killed by 'homophobes', he was murdered by a homosexual prostitute, in a dispute about payment for two days of what we might delicately call sexual services.  As the Guardian reluctantly put it on 2nd February 2011:
'Enock Nsubuga was arrested yesterday in Mukono, outside Kampala, not far from where Kato was bludgeoned to death with a hammer in his home last week. A police spokesman said Nsubuga's confession proved the killing was unrelated to Kato's work as a campaigner in Uganda, where homophobia is widespread.
'"It wasn't a robbery and it wasn't because Kato was an activist," police spokesman Vincent Ssetake told Reuters. "It was a personal disagreement but I can't say more than that."'

Nsubuga was apparently given a home by Kato when he came out of prison and a job as a gardener and part-time rent-boy.  Kato could afford all this because of his Western connections.  According to CNN:
'The head of Uganda's national police, Kale Kayihura, said Thursday in the capital, Kampala, that Nsubuga was an ex-convict who had been working in Kato's garden at the time of the activist's death.
'After being detained, Nsubuga admitted to killing Kato and explained why he did so, according to Kayihura.
According to the suspect, Kato, 46, promised to pay Nsubuga money for having sex with him. But Kato never followed through. An angered Nsubuga told police that he then took a hammer from the bathroom and fatally beat Kato.'

The fact that Ugandans are not going around murdering homosexuals has been it more difficult for those who wish to claim asylum in the UK on the grounds of their alleged homosexual.  A Ugandan women who claimed to be a lesbian in fear of violence and sought asylum in the UK when her normal UK visa ran out came unstuck when she could not remember the surname, age, employer or other details of a woman called Janet with whom she claimed she had a six-year relationship in Uganda.
Neither could she describe a lesbian bar in London that she claimed she visited regularly, reported The Sunday Telegraph last month.  A court concluded she was not a lesbian at all.

Brenda Namigadde's adroit lawyers are now claiming that she might get set upon in Uganda not because she is a lesbian but because people might think she is after all the publicity.  It is more likely that she will either be despised and ignored as a liar or commended for her enterprise.

Sexual Minorities Uganda and its two constituent bodies, Icebreakers Uganda and Integrity Uganda all appear to have been financially supported by George Soros's Open Society.  They are mentioned in the Open Society Report: Sexual Health and Rights Project (SHARP) amongst LGBT Groups in East Africa.  It is a fact that pro-sodomy and pro-abortion NGO's in Africa could not exist without Western money, with Soros's Open Society, the Ford Foundation and Jon Stryker's Arcus Foundation leading the way.  More about them at another time.

PRAY: Thank God that politicians and clergy are standing firm in Uganda and resisting Western evils of promiscuity and homosexuality.  Pray that the flow of Western money promoting immorality will be stopped.  Pray for David Kato's murderer, that he will repent and turn to Christ.  Sadly, it is a bit late to pray for David Kato now...

WE'RE GOING TO WEMBLEY!

Following the huge success of our YOUTUBE VIDEO AND PETITION on the secret sale of halal meat in supermarkets, we are now hard at work on a new Christian Voice video on the HALAL TAKE-AWAY SCANDAL. Please pray for wisdom for the script and production.

One of the biggest culprits in the halal take-away scandal is Wembley Staduium. All Wembley's chicken and burgers come from meat slaughtered in accordance with Sharia law.

But over the next three months Wembley hosts no fewer than eight major football events, beginning with England v Ghana on 29th March, and including the FA Cup Final on 14th May.

This is an opportunity for football supporters to tell Wembley they will not put up with Muslim meat in our national stadium, and it is an opportunity for Christians to get down to Wembley and share the truth about halal, Islam and the Christian faith with whoever is attending.  We shall have leaflets with the truth about halal, why we must oppose Islamisation, and of course, the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Seasoned evangelists and those who want to find out how easy it is to give out leaflets and share the Gospel are all welcome. We have done evangelistic prophetic witness like this before and always been blessed and encouraged by the response.

PRAY: That there will be a reaction against Wembley's halal catering policy and that Jesus Christ will be preached and glorified.  Pray against the advance of Islam in the UK.  Pray for our politicians to realise the threat of Islam before it is too late.

MEET: For each event, we shall meet at Wembley Park Tube at the foot of the stairs going down to Olympic Way two hours before the match.  For more information or to let us know you are coming, please email stephen@christianvoice.org.uk (has a SpamArrest filter - but it's easy to do)

HEAVEN AND HELL IN COLCHESTER

PARENTS AND PASTORS: PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN

A Christian Voice member writes:

'Hello Brother Stephen,

'I just thought I'd send you this email and give you an update on our situation, as you know we are still subject to a child protection plan for (our children) A+++ and B+++++ at Colchester Social Services. This as you know is despite all medical, psychological and the like assesments showing that there is no need for such a plan.

'We have found out today that the child protection plan, for A+++ especially, has had a real detrimental effect on her health. This we found out from the Asthma specialists at Addenbrooke's hospital, they have said; because of A+++'s Asthma protocol by social services (which took her Ventolin to below what she needs), that her lung capacity has been reduced by 30% and that they are extremely worried. So much so that they are going to write to the SS, the doctors, the general hospital, the school and every department dealing with us to try and stop this stupid SS Asthma protocol.

'All in all so far, we've had umpteen threats by SS, my wife is on strong anti-depressants, I have got a stomach ulcer and get panic attacks, A+++'s lung capacity has drastically fallen, C++++'s had her
private files open due to a gazumping of the Data Protection Act, we've been police checked four times, humiliated in umpteen SS meetings, B+++++ has nightmares of been taken away and to top it all we will be on the Child Protection register for 75 years. And all this because B+++++ said (to a teacher) there's a Heaven and a Hell and that A+++ dared to laugh in hospital.

'It seems strange that a department with an obsession to protect has just about destroyed my family, physically and emotionally without any hint of recompense toward us, not even a caring word nor even a inclining of an apology.

'I apologize for writing in such a manner but I am desperate to release all my frustration for this injustice and have no such avenue, save for Christ.  Any help, advice or correspondence will be much appreciated.'

This family is one of the lucky ones - they still have their children.  And the only reason for that is that they took a lawyer with them to the last 'Child Protection Conference'.  Not that the lawyer was actually allowed to speak on the family's behalf (!), but his mere presence as an observer kept the SS a bit more honest than they otherwise would have been.

BHATTI MURDERED - ASYLUM SEEKERS RELEASED

Pakistani Minorities Minister Shahbaz Bhatti has been shot dead by gunmen who ambushed his car in broad daylight in the capital, Islamabad, reports the BBC.
Mr Bhatti, the cabinet's only Christian minister, had received death threats for urging reform to blasphemy laws, which are routinely used by Muslims to settle scores against their Christian neighbours.
In January, Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, who had also opposed the law, was shot dead by one of his bodyguards.

The shooting raises new fears for Pakistani Christians.  Last month I reported on the case of a family, one of whom wrote an article in a Pakistani magazine last September calling for the repeal of the blasphemy laws.  The family fled Pakistan after an attempt on their lives and have applied for asylum in the UK.
I am happy to report that they have been taken off the 'Fast Track' and released while their cases are considered.

The murder of the Minorities Minister and the Governor of Punjab proves the danger in which Pakistani Christians find themselves.  Christians are under threat in the UK, but of loss of livelihood, not loss of life.  Being a Christian in Pakistan is a hazardous journey.

PRAY: Thank God that this family have been released and taken off the 'Fast Track'. Pray they will be granted asylum in the United Kingdom.

Please also pray for the families of Shahbaz Bhatti and Salman Taseer, and do remember to pray for the oppressed, downtrodden and voiceless Christians in Pakistan and especially for mother of five Asia Bibi, who is still on death row for blasphemy, and for other Christians behind bars accused of blasphemy including Imran Ghafoor and Rehmat Masih.

JOHNS CASE IS A THREAT TO CHRISTIAN FAMILIES

PLEASE SIGN OUR PETITION

OWEN AND EUNICE WILL APPEAL
A Christian couple opposed to homosexuality who lost the first round of a battle to continue fostering children have announced their intention to appeal.
Eunice and Owen Johns, from Derby, said the city council did not want them to look after children because of their traditional views.  Mr and Mrs Johns said they could not tell a child homosexuality was an acceptable lifestyle.  The couple, who are Pentecostal Christians, say they were "doomed not to be approved".
In a shocking but not unexpected judgment on Monday 28th February, the High Court ruled against the Johns.
Lord Justice Munby and Mr Justice Beatson took the view that laws protecting people from discrimination because of their sexual orientation "should take precedence" over the right not to be discriminated against on religious grounds.
They said that if children were placed with carers who objected to homosexuality and same-sex relationships, "there may well be a conflict with the local authority's duty to 'safeguard and promote the welfare' of looked-after children".

CHRISTIAN BELIEFS 'INIMICAL' TO CHILDREN
The Judges stated that Christian beliefs on sexual ethics may be ‘inimical’ to children, and they agreed with the perverse view of the Equalities and Human Rights Commission that Christian moral beliefs damage children. 'Infect’ was the word used.  Recently introduced 'Diversity and Equality' policies mean Christians with traditional views on sexual ethics have been ruled unsuitable as foster carers.  Some, to use George Orwell's famous observation, are more equal than others.
The judgment strongly affirms homosexual rights over freedom of conscience and leaves the Johns currently unable to foster a child, despite their proven track record as foster parents. 'There now appears to be nothing to stop the increasing bar on Christians who wish to adopt or foster children but who are not willing to compromise their beliefs', said the Christian Legal Centre, representing Owen and Eunice.
We have come a long way in the last sixty years. Christian ethical beliefs - which include thou shalt not steal, murder, bear false witness, commit adultery, love God and love thy neighbour as thyself, which made this nation great, have now been ruled harmful to children.

ALL CHRISTIAN CHILDREN NOW UNDER THREAT
The judgment applies to fostering and implicitly to adoption, but how long will it be before Social Services will be rounding up ordinary Christian families and taking their children away on exactly the same grounds as the judges used against Owen and Eunice Johns?
Barnados are sympathetic to homosexuality, and their chief has urged more snatching of children, homeschoolers came under threat in the previous parliament, while in Sweden, a boy was seized from his parents merely because they wanted to take him to school in India.

All that needs to happen is this: Your child goes to school and the topic of homosexuality comes up.  'I don't agree with that,' or 'My Mum and Dad say that's sinful,' says your child.  Or your child says he or she believes in heaven and hell, or creation, or marriage, perhaps.  The teacher reports the matter to Social Services and your whole family is under investigation and your children can be taken into care.  That is merely one reason why so many parents are either paying for their children to go to Christian schools or homeschooling.
Christian parents and pastors need to be aware of the need to keep well away from Social Services.  Never ever go to them for 'help'.  We must never give them the slightest pretext to remove our childrenMORE ON THAT HERE.
